The imbrication suture is a technique that is used classically in the fascia, or other very deep tissues. The wound edge is reflected back to add visualization. The needle is inserted into the fascia, and a bite is taken. The needle is then reloaded, and the same procedure is repeated on the contralateral side. These fascial bites allow for effective constriction of the size of the wound.
