SHARATH K RAMANATH: And what was the surgery and how is your experiences, your name and everything?
PATIENT: I am Meena Nagaratham and I'm 70 years old and I was able to walk, and I have done the walking and done comfortably after the day of surgery, but so much of wobbling, it was there.
PATIENT HUSBAND: She was having a truly duck like walking, which continued for a long period.
PATIENT HUSBAND: At the time of walking
PATIENT HUSBAND: also, actually, when she stands just for 10 minutes, she used to experience severe pain. So with this gait walking down, she was not comfortable and we have consulted actually Dr Sarath. My niece got operated actually with Dr Sarath and she is very comfortable. Looking at her case history, we very much commends it
PATIENT HUSBAND: and we have contacted Dr. Sharath and we took appointment. We came for just as an outpatient for consultation, then he posted us, posted my wife for surgery on 20th July. Today it is 20th September for two months I shall say that she is absolutely normal, she is free from the pain, she is walking very comfortably and she started actually having that progress right from the almost first seventh day of this date, from the date of operation itself.
PATIENT HUSBAND: She was very comfortable. She started actually taking a bath on her own, not depending upon anybody. And she started going to the bathroom, and for all nature calls and all, she was not depending upon anybody for two days {INTERPOSING VOICES}
SHARATH K RAMANATH: So what about climbing steps? Climbing steps, getting down there and we came. How much time you can sit like this?
SHARATH K RAMANATH: Like this on the chair. You can sit for one/two hours. No, but immediately after you get up, I mean, you go in the car and when you get down, you have severe pain. Yes some pain, some pain, stiffness always after knee replacement, but after knee replacement medication. This is a common problem when they are not moving their knee after some period of time and they start to move it, you will have stiffness for some time.
SHARATH K RAMANATH: When you continue to move and walk or do, it will be OK. It will get free like that, I observed. But this happens for first three months to four months is about my average, and even many literature and other things suggest that initial few months, you will have stiffness. Yeah so these people behave in different way. Yeah it's a person's recovery is little different, but more or less it is same one little minor differences.
SHARATH K RAMANATH: And how many days did you do it? Physiotherapy? oh, one month. One month. And now we are doing exercises. How much? The duration of our stages and distance wise, how much you can walk in a day now 40 minutes time and admission in the hospital for how many days?
SHARATH K RAMANATH: Previous four days before surgery. And the day of surgery? 87 Wednesday she got it. Tuesday she got at midday Wednesday was the surgery. She got the surgery on Saturday for five days from the date of surgery. If you taken hardly for this all the next time. So all you want to give any message to our audience what message you are giving?
SHARATH K RAMANATH: We are definitely with the problem. She got admitted there. I should say that there is a remarkable change and progress in a patient. That's my wife and definitely is a wonderful thing that the surgeon has done. See, physiotherapist may say that you have to do physiotherapy. They said that finally they are.
SHARATH K RAMANATH: They would be able to do physiotherapy only when the surgery part of it is OK. When surgery important is OK. I want to be able to go ahead with the physiotherapy. Otherwise physiotherapy they won't be able to do it at all. So that way, yeah, that's very great way of thinking because the position of the implant, the balancing of the need is very important for the outcomes of also physiotherapy.
SHARATH K RAMANATH: But before that the surgical part. Yeah, so extremely happy. Thank you for your help.
PATIENT HUSBAND: We are extremely happy with the surgery and definitely we recommend 100% and 200% actually my doctor in SNR. So I say the same daily. He is a better surgeon. Satisfied patient is a very good thing.
PATIENT HUSBAND: We're going for this subject. So my niece got admitted. So she is a wonderful actress has improved very well that is so I looking at the patient for her naturally how much about this type of videos or arts or any websites you check? Yeah only 90% of the patients come from some other patient telling them you please go to this person.
PATIENT HUSBAND: Yeah, that's the only thing all the time. They are not. We are not referred anybody actually such a patient. And then I just, you know, you must you want me to continue on? You continue all the exercises right now. I think you should. You don't have to call anyone to help you yourself. You are able to later in the day, you walk for 1 kilometer.
PATIENT HUSBAND: One kilometer you are OK. You continue your exercise and it is what it is. And after three months, I will ask you to come again. You can do something like manual treadmill, seven steps and all that is so Thank you. Thank you for the job. Good extremely happy actually the way my life is progressing. Thank you. And I really should have been single, so.
PATIENT HUSBAND: Yeah, you can do this crazy. You wanted me to live like that? Yeah, of course. Yeah do those. Yes OK. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks
