SHUSHENG WANG: [INAUDIBLE] How do you like the recent association for ocular pharmacology and therapeutics meeting, or AOPT meeting, in Indiana?
SPEAKER 2: It was great. It was well organized by Dr. Patu Pattabiraman, and well attended. I have learned a lot there. I'm very grateful for the AOPT for giving me the chance to present my recent work on the ocular fibrosis. I also want to thank for the sponsors, including BrightFocus Foundation, NIH, and Regeneron, providing the Travel Award so that I can attend the meeting in person. Dr. Wang, I know you missed the Indiana meeting since you had to attend the LPG satellite meeting held in Shenyang, China.
SPEAKER 2: How was that meeting?
SHUSHENG WANG: AOPT China meeting was very successful and well organized by Dr. Wei He who's the president of [INAUDIBLE] University and He Vision Group. This is the first time AOPT has a meeting in China. And it was well attended by more than 100 participants. Surprisingly, I found that there are many experienced scientists in China working on workflow pharmacology and therapeutics. This meeting was unique because it brought together not only academic and industry scientists, but also regulators, investors, and the media people.
SPEAKER 2: That was very exciting. Dr. Wang, congratulations on being elected as the vice president of the AOPT. Do you have a new vision to the AOPT?
SHUSHENG WANG: I'm honored that I can continue to serve for AOPT, working with AOPT board. Our vision is to continue to build ocular pharmacology and therapeutic community. Particularly, we want to provide opportunities to promote the career development for young scientists like you.
SPEAKER 2: Thank you so much, Dr. Wang. I heard JOPT, the official journal of the AOPT, had a special issue on the ocular regeneration. Can you tell me about that?
SHUSHENG WANG: Yes. The special issue was based on the 2021 AOPT Miami meeting. And it was co-edited by Miami meeting organizers. Dr. Sanjoy Bhattacharya and Dr. Matt [? Wedon. ?] This includes editorial by keynote speaker Dr. Zhigang He and also to have two unconventional papers. One is about how to navigate FDA filing by Dr. Hirani. And another paper is about a successful entrepreneurship story by Dr. Pinchuk.
SHUSHENG WANG: With a concerted effort of GLP and AOPT, this issue is free for one year. You should download the papers right now.
SPEAKER 2: That sounds great. I will download that.
