So friends, today I'm going to demonstrate a technique of shoulder reduction, which is called Hippocratic method of shoulder dislocation. This is a method in which you can reduce it on your own. So one person can reduce dislocated shoulder. It is quite easy to do. And if you are stuck in a place where you're on your own, this is the only way where you can.
This is one of the ways where you can reduce the shoulder dislocation. This man, there is emptying of the pectoris flat and this is his deformity and he is in pain. So all I'm going to do is to reduce the shoulder using Stimson's stick, using a Hippocratic maneuver. So for Hippocratic maneuver, you keep your arm in slight abduction and you put your feet under in the axilla of the patient.
And then that's it. You can see that it's nicely reduced. And if after reduction you can easily put the hand of the patient on the opposite shoulder, that means shoulder is reduced. So this video about the Hippocratic method of reducing shoulder dislocation, it's quite easy. And as I said before, it can be done with one person. If you see this patient, this patient had shoulder dislocation and also had a small fracture of the greater tuberosity.
