>> You're going to see a patient initially seen one month ago for low back pain. On this follow-up visit, notice the clinician does not repeat already known information. The clinician simply learns what has occurred since the last visit and makes plans for the future. Notice as well the plentiful use of nurse. >> How have you been doing since the last time I saw you? >> Much better. Much better. >> That's good.
>> Thank you. I still have some little twinges. It's not quite so terrible. I'm not having to take so much medicine. >> That's good. >> And so it's -- I'm able to be at work more, but I don't -- I don't know. That's still kind of tenuous and so I'm hoping that, as I do the physical therapy, that that will kind of, you know, continue to ease it. >> Tell me more about your work.
How has this been affecting you? How have you been feeling about this? >> Well, it's starting to get scary. >> Scary? >> I'm kind of picking up vibes of, um -- so all I can do is just stay on the medication and do the physical therapy and they've got me coming in two, three times a week and so that's good. >> OK. You mentioned -- >> And they've given me exercise -- >> You mentioned scary.
I want to hear more about that. Tell me more about that. >> Well, I've had this job for like five years and I finally have some stability. And, um, so we've got a stable place to live and, you know, like the kids are settled and they're in sports and they've got music lessons and they're doing really well. And, um, you know, I don't have any backup. >> Yeah. Wow. >> I have bills and -- >> It sounds like you have a lot to consider.
Yeah. Paying bills and so many activities with the kids. I think anybody in your situation would be scared about their job, but you've done the right thing by coming here and I'm glad you're doing better. OK? So you're improving. Now that's the good news. >> Yeah. Yeah I am. >> So just a little bit more about the pain. Does it radiate anywhere? >> No. Not really.
It kind of comes and goes and sometimes there's a stab. And then I'll try to kind of relax and remember what the physical therapist told me to do. >> OK. How would you rate the pain on a scale of one to 10, 10 being the worst possible pain, zero being no pain? How would you rate it? >> I think I'd -- I think I'd do a three or four. >> Three or four?
