WINSTON CLARKE: I think my biological hero, if I had one, would be, I think, Alexander Fleming sits in my mind. His contribution to human health worldwide is undeniable. It's just always stuck with me from a young man to now.
FRANK CRAIG: Yeah. My scientific hero. That's a difficult question. I probably see Charles Darwin because if you discover evolution, which has impacted man's history, understanding of the planet, and understanding of how we evolve, that's a fantastic thing. That is the biggest, most impactful concept I can think of in science. And as a biologist, I do see that versus rather than perhaps being a chemist or physicist.
NICK CLARE: My scientific hero would be Yamanaka as I'm a stem cell geek and he discovered the reprogramming factors for iPSCs.
JAMES SHORE: Scientific hero. OK. So I don't know that much about scientist as a whole, so I wouldn't pick one hero that most people would probably go to, but I'd say my boss Andy Lane. He's leaving. He's retiring in a couple of weeks. He's the first boss I've ever had. He ran an NHS lab after he got his and for, I think, like 10 years.
JAMES SHORE: He's a fantastic guy. He transitioned then to the commercial side, but he definitely still has a hand in the science and the R&D. And I just think he's an all round great guy, and we're really sorry to see him go. [MUSIC PLAYING]
